Hexes is a daily word puzzle where your mission is to find as many words as you can from seven letters arranged in a honeycomb grid. Every valid word must include the golden center letter.
It's similar to Wordflower by the L.A. TImes and Spelling Bee by NYT Games but it has elements of emoji-driven hints and audio support.
You're given six outer letters and one center letter in a honeycomb pattern. Build words of any length (minimum two letters) using these letters in any combination. The catch: every single word must contain that center letter.
- Words must be at least two letters long.
- The center letter is mandatory in every word.
- Letters can be reused within the same word.
- Hunt for the pangram (a word using all 7 letters) for bonus points.
- Hints are available if you get stuck.
- A new puzzle drops daily at midnight UTC.
- Currently available in English (American spellings only) and German.
The word list filters out proper nouns and vulgar terms but keeps common slang and abbreviations that fluent speakers actually use.
Why we like it:
- β Dozens of possible words per puzzle means you can play casually or obsessively hunt for 100%.
- β Reusable letters open up surprising combinations you wouldn't expect.
- β That pangram hunt adds just enough extra challenge to keep you thinking.
Hint: Start with short, common words to build momentum, then look for patterns where letters repeat. The pangram often hides in plain sight once you've warmed up.
